"Sim Racing for the Kids 5" presented by HIP Motorsports

First and foremost, this annual online Pro-Am Sim Racing event is to support the SickKids Foundation Charity. Since the inaugural race held in January 2022 the sim racing community and their supporters have donated over $148,000 to SickKids, a remarkable success for a group of about 140 people. The event continues to grow, and the next event is expected to be bigger and more popular than ever.

The 5th ANNIVERSARY running of the race will be held on the evening of January 7, 2026, and will involve up to 58 teams of 3 sim racers competing in a 2.5-hour endurance race. It is a unique experience in these ways.

Most of the teams have one real life Professional Racing Driver / Sim Racer as a team member. Amateur drivers from across North America and the UK each provide a donation to the charity to enter the event and then fundraise to support their effort. The Pros generously provide their skills and time for free to elevate the race to a high standard.
HIP Motorsports hosts an annual gathering at their Sim Racing Studio in Ajax ON. Ten teams use HIP's state of the art equipment for the race, so the Amateurs and Pros spend the evening together as they race for the win. Recently some competitors gathered at their local sim racing facilities to join the event in the same way as HIP offers. All other competitors join the race virtually from home, using their own equipment as the event uses the iRacing.com motorsport racing simulation. In the previous event, racers joined from across Canada the USA and the UK.
The event has achieved significant national interest and REVTV, broadcasts the race live across their entire Canada wide network. The broadcast crew also stream the event live worldwide on their You Tube channel. Many of the participants also stream live on their Twitch accounts. In total thousands of people watch this race.

ENTER SRFTK5

SRFTK5 is an event that raises money for SickKids foundation while having a fun and competitive Pro/AM sim race. The SIM racing community has strongly embraced the event, with the number of entries growing by 230% in four years while donations have increased by more than 300% in that time. Thank you.

Last year's event set records, and the event organizers want to recognize the stellar fundraising efforts made by most teams. To that end the entry donation for each driver has been lowered to $10 / driver who races from home, while those wishing to race at HIP will be asked to donate $50 / driver.

Each team is required to achieve a total donation of $400 (including the entry donation amount) to confirm a spot on the grid. You are asked to achieve this amount by Dec 12, 2025.

HOW TO REGISTER

Please select one of the options below and provide the required information to enter the event. Once completed you will be redirected to the SickKids donation website where you can register your team and make your entry donation. Once entered you will receive an event welcome information package that outlines the event schedule and details.

Option 1: $50.00 per driver; Race at the HIP MOTORSPORTS studio and join a total of 10 teams and their Pro Driving teammates live on race day evening. Enjoy a party atmosphere that includes food and drink and a unique event T-shirt. The price includes a live in studio practice session on Jan 5, using the same state-of-the-art sim racing equipment that you will use on race day.

Option 2: $10.00 per driver; Race from home using your own sim racing equipment. NOTE: THERE MAY NOT BE PRO DRIVERS AVAILABLE TO TEAMS ENTERING AFTER DEC 12.

All entries will automatically be entered in the “Pick Your Pro” contest as soon as your team is registered on the SickKids Donation website. (See the Pick Your Pro section for details)

Pick Your TEAMMATE Contest

NEW for SRFTK5 the top 2 fundraising Pro drivers will be able to pick their 2 Amateur teammates, on Dec 18, 2025. The Pro drivers must be registered on the SickKids Donation site and achieve a minimum of $400 in donations. This is a strictly optional contest for Pro drivers but is offered based on past requests by some.

As in the past, Pro drivers will be matched with an Amateur Team on Thursday December 18, 2025, in an online DISCORD session at 8:00 pm. For SRFTK5 the number of Amateur teams eligible has increased to 8, from the previous 3. (see contest details)

The SRFTK5 Fundraising campaign begins on October 25, 2025, and concludes at noon on January 9, 2026. During this time, teams must be registered on the SickKids donation website. They are required to gather a minimum of $400 in donations directly to their team account on that site. NOTE: The fundraising information used will be publicly available on the SickKids Donation website. In the event of a tie the driver achieving the total amount first takes priority.

Support the Event

Making donations to “Sim Racing For The Kids 4” from the USA in $USD and receiving a USA tax receipt.

Attached is the information about Friends of The Hospital for Sick Children, the US Charity that collects funds for SickKids Foundation. The steps:

Make your donation in USD through the Friends of The Hospital for Sick Children donation page. Be sure to include the note “For community event: Sim Racing for the Kids” under the “designation” box and select “Share my full contact information”. You will receive a US tax receipt.
Send proof of the donation (screenshot of donation confirmation, copy of receipt, etc.) to Gary ([email protected]) and Shannon ([email protected]) and indicate the participant/team the donation is for.
The donation will be added to your Sim Racing for the Kids donation page. Because there is a delay in SickKids receiving funds via this donation page and conversion rates are subject to change, the USD value will be converted to $CDN at the rate of $1.00 USD = $1.41 CDN.
